Joy to the World - Christmas Concert

It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas at ChromaMusic! Our orchestra and brand-new choir have started to prepare for our upcoming ‘Joy to the World’ Christmas concert.

The concert will be held on 10th December at 7pm at St Catherine’s Church, Gorseinon. It will be a chance to celebrate the local community by bringing together a number of community and church groups and to celebrate a return to a more normal Christmastime post covid.

The orchestra will play a specially commissioned piece titled ‘Joy to the World’ by Jacob Smith, a Llanelli based composer. This is an upbeat and merry three-movement concerto, which reflects the joy the community will be feeling this Christmastime. The orchestra and choir will also perform a mix of carols and festive favourites.

A number of other groups that use the church hall will join us, making the concert a celebration of the local community. For example, the Helen O’Grady Drama Academy will recite a poem, the Faith and Light Group will sing an interactive song, and the Flower Group will decorate the church with displays representing some of the groups that meet in the hall.

Tickets are now on sale on Eventbrite, you can buy them here. There is plenty of on street parking nearby, though if you need to park closer to the church, please let us know. We are also looking for volunteers to help with refreshments on the night!
